"The Curse of Jonathan Blaze!" is the sixty-eighth issue of the second Ghost Rider ongoing comic book series published by Marvel Comics. The story was written by Roger Stern with artwork by Bob Budiansky and inks by Josef Rubinstein. It was colored by George Roussos and lettered by Diana Albers. The story was edited by Tom DeFalco. This issue shipped with a May, 1982 cover date and carries a cover price of .60 cents per copy.

Notes & Trivia

The character of Johnny Blaze was created by writers Gary Friedrich & Roy Thomas and artist Mike Ploog. He first appeared as the title story in Marvel Spotlight #5 in August, 1972. This issue carries the approval stamp of the Comics Code Authority. The tagline to this issue is "Featuring a startling all-new retelling of... The Origin of the Ghost Rider! The terrible curse of Jonathan Blaze!" According to Amazing Heroes #8, this issue shipped to retailers on December 1st, 1981. This issue is reprinted as the first story in The Original Ghost Rider Rides Again #1 in July, 1991. It is also reprinted in black and white in the Essential Ghost Rider, Volume 4 trade paperback collection, released in 2010. It has also been made available on the Ghost Rider: The Complete Collection digital media collection produced by Graphic Imaging Technology, Inc., released in 2007. It has been reprinted in as the first story in the Marvel Tales: Ghost Rider one-shot special in December, 2019. Editor-in-Chief Jim Shooter is credited as Deacon in this episode. A deacon is an official of the Christian church.
