Biography[]

George Stacy was a veteran police detective with the New York City Police Department. He was the husband of Helen Stacy and the father of Gwen Stacy.

During a battle between Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus, which took place on a rooftop, George Stacy, and several civilians gathered on the street below. The battle loosened a larger corner of the building, raining debris down onto the street. Captain Stacy dived to save a child that was in danger of being struck. He pushed the child out of harm's way, but the debris landed on top of him. Spider-Man rushed down to save him, but it was too late. With his dying words, he called Spider-Man Peter, and asked him to look after Gwen, revealing that he had known he was Spider-Man all along.

  • George Stacy was a supporting character in the 2012 film The Amazing Spider-Man. He was played by actor Denis Leary. In the film, Stacy dies as a result of Spider-Man's fight with The Lizard, as opposed to Doctor Octopus from the comics.
