Genosha is a fictional location featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It is considered part of the mainstream Marvel Universe and first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #235 in October, 1988.
Description[]
Genosha is a small crescent shaped island located to the northeast of Madagascar, on the eastern coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean. The island has only two cities, Carrion Cove and Hammer Bay, the capital city.

Genosha has appeared in alternate media. It appeared in the 1990s X-Men animated series in the season one episode, "Slave Island". In the episode, Genoshan magistrate Cameron Hodge abducted dozens of mutants and fitted them with control collars, forcing them to work on the construction of a dam, which would be used to generate power for the Master Mold, which would the produce Sentinels - Giant killer robots programmed to hunt down and exterminate mutants. X-Men members Storm, Gambit and Jubilee went to Genosha to liberate the mutants.
