Gallifrey is the name of a fictional planet featured in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. It is the home world of the Gallifreyan race and the hierarchy of the Time Lords. The titular heroic figure from the series, known only as The Doctor, is from Gallifrey. Though it has been referenced many times throughout the series, it wasn't until the sixth series storyline, "The War Games" that the planet made its first actual appearance.
