Biography[]

The honorable G. Lawton Sargent was a judge and an economist and a member of the Federal Open Market Committee, which helped to establish governmental economic policy. In 1975, the Red Skull sought to destabilize the American economy by systematically assassinating key members of the Federal Open Market Committee. Using his newly developed Dust of Death, he publicly murdered the honorable Herbert Glass. He then issued a public warning, that he would assassinate the next member of the group, G. Lawton Sargent at midnight. Captain America and the Falcon went to Sargent's private lighthouse retreat to protect him, where they met up with Peggy Carter. Against all odds, the Red Skull made good on his threat and Cap and Falcon discovered the body of Sargent's whose face had been disfigured to resemble a red skull thanks to the Dust of Death. [2]
