"Operation: Lady Doomsday" is the title to the first story featured in the first issue of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero ongoing comic book series published by Marvel Comics. The story was written by Larry Hama with artwork by Herb Trimpe and inks by Bob McLeod. It was colored by Glynis Wein and lettered by Jim Novak. The second story is called "...Hot Potato!" and is by Larry Hama and artist Don Perlin with Jack Abel on inks, Glynis Wein on coloring, and Rick Parker as letterer. Both stories were edited by Tom DeFalco. This issue shipped with a June, 1982 cover date and carries a cover price of $1.50 per copy (US).
G.I. Joe, and all related characters and concepts were created by and are the property of the Hasbro Corporation. The franchise originated as a toy line in 1964 that begat the formation of the "action figure" concept of dolls for boys, that has since gone on to become a successful multimedia franchise that has spread out into varying toy lines, animated programs, live-action films, as well as comic books and other merchandise.
