"A Stake in the Serpent's Heart" is the fifth and final installment of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero mini-series event, which precedes the regular series. It was directed by Dan Thompson with a script written by Ron Friedman. It first aired in syndication on September 16th, 1983.

- G.I. Joe, and all related characters and concepts were created by and are the property of the Hasbro Corporation. The franchise originated as a toy line in 1964 that begat the formation of the "action figure" concept of dolls for boys, that has since gone on to become a successful multimedia franchise that has spread out into varying toy lines, animated programs, live-action films, as well as comic books and other merchandise.
