Full Moon High is a 1981 horror-comedy directed by Larry Cohen. It was produced by Filmways Pictures and Larco Productions. It was released theatrically in the United States on October 9th, 1981. The film centers on the character of Tony Walker, who travels to Transylvania with his father only be bitten by a werewolf. Tony becomes a werewolf himself and also discovers that he now ceases to age. Twenty years later, Tony tries to re-enter society by enrolling at high school posing as his own son.

  • Is one of many such films inspired by the popularity of John Landis werewolf comedy An American Werewolf in London.

  • Full Moon High was filmed partially at John Burroughs Senior High School in the city of Burbank, California in the Summer of 1979. A portion of this movie was also filmed on location in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. On the football field in Bergen County Park at the foot of Valley Brook Ave. and River Road. The stands were filled with everyone from the town and the Varsity football team of that year were also used. [1]
  • A soundtrack was released for the film which includes tracks such as "When the Sun Goes Down", "Full Moon Anthem", "Tony, My Pet" and "Meet Me in the Moonlight". The songs were written by Janelle Webb Cohen and Gary William Friedman and performed by Shezwae Powell, Robin Batteau and David Buskin.
  • Larry Cohen also directed other low-budget horror films including It's Alive, It's Alive III: Island of the Alive and A Return to Salem's Lot.
  • Alan Arkin, who plays Doctor Brand, is Adam Arkin's father.
