Fright Night is a 2011 horror/comedy film directed by Craig Gillespie. It is a remake of the original 1985 film Fright Night by Tom Holland. The screenplay was written by Marti Noxon and loosely adapts material from Tom Holland's original script. The movie was shot in Real D 3-D and produced by Gaeta/Rosenzweig Films and DreamWorks SKG. It was distributed through Touchstone Pictures.

- Production on Fright Night began on July 26th, 2010. Principal filming concluded on October 1st, 2010.
- The principal setting for this film is Las Vegas, Nevada. However, it was filmed primarily in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Some exterior establishing shots were filmed in Las Vegas, including the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, which is where Peter Vincent performs.
- Fright Night was released on DVD and Blu-ray on December 13th, 2011.
- This movie has an approval rating of 64 on the film review site Metacritic, based on a total of thirty reviews.
- Actor Chris Sarandon makes a cameo appearance in the film as a man who tries to help out Charlie and his mother on the road side and is subsequently killed by Jerry Dandridge. Sarandon played the original Jerry Dandridge in the first Fright Night. His character's name in this film is "Jay Dee" - an obvious reference to Jerry Dandridge.
- Screenplay writer Marti Noxon is no stranger to vampire fiction. She is a former writer, executive producer and showrunner from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
- In the original movie, Peter Vincent was a late-night horror host and former genre actor. In the remake, he is a stage magician in the style of Criss Angel.
- In the original movie "Evil Ed" was named Ed Thompson. In this movie, his name is Ed Lee and he does not have the "Evil" nickname.
