Freyja Freyrdottir, commonly known simply as Frigga, is a fictional character from Norse mythology. This representation of Freyja relates to the version seen in comic books published by Marvel Comics. She is associated with the Thor line of titles and was first referenced in Journey Into Mystery #92 in May, 1963, where she was identified as "Fricka". Frigga appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well. Played by actress Rene Russo, she had a brief yet vital role in the film Thor: The Dark World in 2013.
