Friday is the sixth day of the standard week. It follows Thursday and precedes Saturday. It is largely considered the fifth and final day of the standard 9-5 work week. Friday the 13th is often regarded as a day of profound bad luck amongst the superstitious. Friday is often associated with the Roman goddess Venus, and the second planet in our solar system, which is name for her.
In Marvel Comics continuity, Friday is the name of an artificial intelligence developed by Tony Stark. She was so named as a play on the term "Girl Friday", and often performed secretarial administrative functions. Stark developed a holographic emitter, enabling Friday to assume a visual form. She had the voice and personality of a young woman. Her programming evolved to the point of being an artificial intelligence. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Friday was a disembodied A.I. who took the place of Jarvis, whose programming was disrupted by the newborn Ultron A.I. program. Friday communicated directly with Tony Stark via his HUD system and could activate and control linked systems, such as summoning other Stark tech including the Hulkbuster armor.
