Biography[]
Freddy Jolly was an elderly grave robber who lived in Llanwelly Village in Wales in the 1940s. Along with a younger cohort, he broke into the Talbot Family Crypt in search of valuables. After scanning some of the memorial plaques, they settled upon opening the casket of Larry Talbot. Upon lifting the cover, they found Talbot's corpse covered in wolfsbane. Freddy recalled an eerie poem relating to this particular plant:
Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfsbane blooms and the Autumn moon is bright.
Perhaps if Freddy had been a bit more attentive, he would have noticed the light of the full moon pouring in through a small window. The moonlight resurrected Larry Talbot, who was a werewolf and he took hold of Freddy's arm. Jolly's colleague ran out of the crypt to escape the terror, but poor Freddy Jolly was never seen again.
