Fred is a fictional cook and a minor character featured in the Toxic Avenger multimedia franchise. Played by actor Andrew Craig, he appeared in the 1984 feature film The Toxic Avenger by Troma Entertainment.
Biography[]
Fred was an overweight white male in his apparent mid-thirties who lived in the city of Tromaville, New Jersey. Along with a much younger man named Johnny, he worked as a short fry cook at a fast food restaurant called the Mexican Palace. Fred would keep a flask of whiskey tucked in his pants and would occasionally whip it out whenever he needed a tug.
In 1984, the Mexican Palace was raided by three criminals named Frank, Leroy and Rico. Fred and Johnny stood in a shocked stupor as the three criminals terrorized the patrons and staff. Suddenly, a muscular super-strong mutant known as the Toxic Avenger appeared and fought against the criminals, killing each of them in creative and violent ways. Fred was in a state of shock and fell backwards onto the floor of the kitchen as he witnessed this spectacle. As Fred did not have evil in his heart, he was not a target of the Toxic Avenger, and thus was spared.
After the Toxic Avenger left, police officers arrived on the scene, but Fred was still in a state of deep shock and was barely responsive.
