Frankenstein vs. the Mummy is an independent American film of the horror genre. It employs elements of mummy fiction as well as characters and concepts from the novel Frankenstein, as well as its various adaptations. It was written and directed by Damien Leone and produced by Ruthless Pictures. It premiered on DVD and was made available for digital download on February 10th, 2015. The film stars Max Rhyser as a modern-era interpretation of Doctor Victor Frankenstein, identified in this film as Professor F. It also stars Ashton Leigh as Naihla Khalil - an Egyptologist who is responsible for bringing the remains of the mummy of Usekara to a university. Playing the antagonists of the film is Constantin Tripes as Frankenstein's Monster, and Brandon deSpain as Usekara the Mummy.
The character of William, who is a university student and potential successor to Victor Frankenstein, may have been named after William Frankenstein, who was Victor's young brother from the novel.
The applications for the mummy make-up took six hours every day to conduct.
The scene where Naihla Khalil tries to trick Usekare into believing that she is an Egyptian woman of some authority is reminiscent of a scene in Friday the 13th Part 2 where Ginny Field tries to psychologically trick Jason Voorhees by pretending she is his mother.
