Frank Castle, Jr. is a fictional murder victim and a minor character featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is part of the mainstream Marvel Universe and is associated with the Punisher line of comic titles. He first appeared in Marvel Preview #2 in August, 1975.
Biography[]
Frank Castle, Jr. was a young boy and the second and youngest child of Maria Castle and Frank Castle. He had an older sister named Lisa Castle.
While spending a joyful family outing in Central Park, the Castles were unfortunate enough to stumble upon a gangland execution. As a result, the mobsters decided to eliminate all witnesses and viciously gunned down Maria, Frank, Jr., and Lisa. Miraculously, Frank Castle survived. Driven to the edge of madness by grief and rage, he swore vengeance against the criminal underworld and took up a mission eradicate all facets of organized crime with extreme and blood-drenched prejudice. From this rage, the Punisher was born.
