Notes & Trivia[]
- The Flash was created by writers Robert Kanigher & John Broome and artist Carmine Infantino. Often regarded as the first of the DC Comics Silver Age super-hero, he first appeared in Showcase #4 in October, 1956. He headlined his own The Flash ongoing comic series, which continued the numbering sequence from Flash Comics, and ran from 1959 to 1985, ending with issue #350.
- This issue carries the approval stamp of the Comics Code Authority.
- This is the first appearance of Abra Kadabra, who is a magician from the 64th century. He appears next in "The Plight of the Puppet-Flash!" from The Flash #133.
- The events from "The Origin of Flash's Masked Identity!" take place concurrently with events from Barry Allen's origin from "Mystery of the Human Thunderbolt!" in Showcase #4, in between scenes from when he first develops super-speed to when he adopts the costumed identity of the Flash.
- Chronologically, Barry Allen's appearance from "The Case of the Real-Gone Flash!" takes place after the events from "One Hour to Doomsday" from Justice League of America #11. Coincidentally, this story also involves a time-traveling villain from the far future known as the Lord of Time.
