- This is the sixth issue of The Flash written by John Broome.
- This is the sixth issue of The Flash illustrated by Carmine Infantino.
- This is the first appearance of Mark Mardon, who goes by the villainous name of the Weather Wizard. He will becomes a longtime member of Flash's Rogues Gallery. He appears next in Flash #130.
- The second story in this issue introduces Wally West as Kid Flash. Wally will remain as a longtime sidekick to the Scarlet Speedster, and eventually succeed him as the Flash.
- First appearance of the Weather Wizard's Weather Wand.
