"Watching the Detectives" is the third episode of the superhero action/fantasy series The Flash and the fifth episode of the series overall (if one counts the two-part series premiere as two episodes). It was directed by Aaron Lipstadt and written by Milo Bachmann, Danny Bilson, and Paul De Meo based on a story treatment by Howard Chaykin and John Francis Moore. It first aired on CBS on Saturday, October 18th, 1990 at 8:00 pm. In this episode, a crew of murderous thieves arrives in Central City with their eyes set on stealing the priceless death mask of Rasputin from the Central City Museum. Barry Allen reunites with an old colleague, but his stress levels begin to increase, which has an unexpected effect on his powers.
