- The Flash was developed for television by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Geoff Johns. It is based on the DC Comics character of Barry Allen, who was created by writers Robert Kanigher & John Broome, and artists Carmine Infantino and Joe Kubert. He first appeared in the "Mystery of the Human Thunderbolt!" story featured in Showcase #4 in September-October, 1956.
