- The Rainier residence, later known as the Garza residence, was located at 414 Appletree Road in Five Keys, New Mexico. In 1953, the head of the household was Gerald Rainier, who worked as a prison guard at Dewbend State Penitentiary. He was married to Audrey Rainier, and had two children, Elise and Christian. Since she was a little girl, Elise had the ability to perceive and talk to ghosts. She claimed that there were numerous ghosts haunting their home, at least one of which, took on the visage of a small child. While Audrey was protective of Elise's gift, Gerald was fearful of it, and flew into a violent rage, whenever Elise had a "visitation". On the night that Wayne Fisher was executed, Elise saw a ghost child in her bedroom. Gerald reacted poorly to this, and beat Elise with a wooden cane and locked her in the basement. While trapped in the basement, Elise was briefly possessed by the KeyDemon, who used his demonic power to murder Audrey Rainier by hanging her with a power cable from the ceiling.
