Adelai Niska was a ruthless criminal overlord who operated on an unnamed border world in the Georgia system. He hired Mal Reynolds and his crew to hijack a shipment of Pescaline D from a cargo train headed towards Paradiso. ("The Train Job")

Bar guy

The "bar guy" was a criminal henchman and veteran of the Unification War. He was found in a bar on a small moon celebrating the six-year anniversary of Unification Day when he ran into Mal Reynolds. As per custom, Mal always seemed to end up getting into a fight at an Alliance-friendly bar on U-Day and this time was no exception. The thug and several of his cronies fought against Mal, Jayne and Zoe until Wash came to their rescue threatening to blow a crater into their little moon. ("The Train Job", Serenity)

Crow was a henchman of Adelai Niska and operated out of Niska's Skyplex satellite. Under Niska's orders, Crow tortured and killed Adelai's own nephew. He later had an encounter with the crew of Serenity, but was killed when he was pulled into Serenity 's intake engines. ("The Train Job")
