The Fifth Dimension is a fictional abstract construct featured in speculative fiction media, mostly comic books. It often appears in books published by DC Comics. The earliest known reference to the Fifth Dimension in comics is in flashback in Superman #30 from September, 1944 in a story titled "The Mysterious Mr. Mxyztplk!, which introduces the character of Mister Mxyzptlk.
Description[]
The Fifth Dimension is an alternate dimension, separate from that of standard time-space realities. Because it is based on five dimensional properties, reality is a fluid concept in the Fifth Dimension, and the rules governing the general physics of this reality are so abstract, that some might consider them to be magical. Others may regard the so-called magical properties of the Fifth Dimension as a form of "super-science". One resident of this reality postulated that "imagination" is the Fifth Dimension.
The Fifth Dimension is home to several different races of beings. The most notable of which is a humanoid imp who has taken to calling himself Mxyzptlk. Another imp from the Fifth Dimension took to calling himself Bat-Mite. In addition to the standard imps, there is also a sub-race of water nymphs represented by beings such as Qwsp and Qwnk.
The Fifth Dimension is also home to a type of djinn, which have come to be referred to as Thunderbolts. The most famous of which was Yz, who bonded with the Earth human Johnny Thunder, and later, Jakeem Williams.
In the Fifth Dimension, the sky is orange and the grass is blue. Wind carries the power of magic and the sounds of laughter
