Ferdie is a fictional puppet featured in comic books published by DC Comics. It is associated with DC's "New 52" era of continuity and first appeared in Batgirl, Volume 4 #20 in July, 2013.
Description[]
Ferdie was a ventriloquist's dummy that was originally used by a professional clown named Rainbow Rodney. Rodney performed at a little girl's birthday party where he attempted to cheer up a mistreated party guest named Shauna Belzer. After poisoning the other kids, Shauna convinced Rodney to "give" her the puppet, which she renamed "Ferdie".
Nine years later, the mentally disturbed Shauna auditioned at "Gotham's Got a Star" in Gotham City, using Ferdie as one of her props. The judges were not particularly kind regarding Shauna's performance, so she had Ferdie kill one of the judges, Mister Quentin, by having sharp nails pop out of Ferdie's hands to stab him. [1]
