Felicia Hardy is a fictional costumed adventurer who is best known by her code name, the Black Cat. She appears in comic book titles published by Marvel Comics and is a part of the mainstream Marvel Universe. She is generally associated with the Spider-Man family of comic book titles. The character was introduced in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man, Volume 1 #194 in July, 1979. Since then, she has made recurring appearances as both an antagonist and an ally in issues of Amazing Spider-Man, Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man, and any number of offshoot related books. In 1994, the Black Cat was spotlighted in her own four-issue limited series, Felicia Hardy: The Black Cat. She received a second four-issue series in 2010 titled Amazing Spider-Man Presents: Black Cat. The character has also appeared in animated and video game adaptations relating to Spider-Man.
