The Fearsome Four are a fictional superhero team featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. They were the featured team in their own four-issue limited series, Fear Itself: Fearsome Four, which was published from August to November, 2011.
History[]
When Cul Borson of Asgard used his hammer-wielders to generate intensified levels of fear across the world, one of the many affected was the Man-Thing. The Man-Thing, being an empathic creature by nature, was driven into an intense rage by the overwhelming emotions washing over him, and the only one who could properly gauge his destructive potential was... believe it or not... Howard the Duck. Howard brought together a hodge-podge band of figures together to combat him and dubbed the team, the Fearsome Four. In addition to Howard himself, the team consisted of the Frankenstein Monster, Nighthawk, and She-Hulk.
The Man-Thing's connection to the Nexus of All Realities, brought the Fearsome Four into contact with not only the Psycho-Man, but also alternate versions of themselves. After combating their own fears, they were able to calm the Man-Thing down.
