Biography[]
"Fat" Matt had always been obese and picked up his uncomplimentary nickname back when he attended school at Dewbuck High. Despite the bullying, Matt decided to keep the name as a sort of empowering memento of his past. Using his prodigiuos form as a source of strength, he fought back against those who tormented him, snapping their necks like twigs.
As an adult, Fat Matt took to a life of crime. To increase his durability, he had Body-Max outfit him with body armor implants that were strong enough to stop bullets. He worked as a hitman for the mob, but then split off to explore a solo career.
One day in early April, Fatt Matt was a on bus that was fire-bombed by agents of an Old Detroit crime boss known as Lot's Wife. Matt survived the attack, then engaged in combat with a Detroit police officer. He killed her smothering her face inside the folds of his stomach. Afterward, he was approached by his assailants who offered him a job as an enforcer for Lot's Wife. Fatt Matt agreed.
