"Medusa and the Inhumans" is the fourth episode of the Fantastic Four animated television series, which is based on characters and concepts developed by Marvel Comics. The teleplay was written by Stan Lee based on story ideas developed by Stan Lee. It first aired on NBC on Saturday morning on October 7th, 1978.

- This episode aired on the same day as the "Trial of the Superfriends" of Challenge of the Super Friends and the "The Robot" of Freedom Force.
- This is the first animated appearance of the Inhumans, whose members include Medusalith Amaquelin, Gorgon Petragon, Karnak Mander-Azur, and Crystal Amaquelin (generally referred to as just Medusa, Gorgon, Karnak, and Crystal).
- In this continuity, Medusa is the leader of the Inhumans. Normally, the Inhumans are led by Black Bolt, who is absent from this episode. Medusa is Black Bolt's consort, and later wife.

- The Fantastic Four were created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby. They first appeared in Fantastic Four, Volume 1 #1 in November, 1961. By and large, the roster of the Fantastic Four has remained the same over the years, consisting of Reed Richards as Mister Fantastic, Susan Storm as the Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm as the Human Torch and Ben Grimm as the ever-lovin' blue-eyed Thing. Occasional transitory members of the FF have included Crystal Amaquelin, Luke Cage, Scott Lang, and T'Challa.
- The Inhumans were created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby. They first appeared in Fantastic Four', Volume 1 #45 in December, 1965.
