The Fangs of Farallah is the name of a magic spell used by the dark mystic supervillain the Silver Dagger. As its name suggests, the effect is representative of a monstrous entity named Farallah, whose only known image is that of an ethereal disembodied mouth two sets of large fangs. Presumably, anything that enters the mouth of Farallah is lost to some unknown location never to return.
Many years ago, the Silver Dagger used his wit and abilities to bypass the mystic defenses surrounding Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum. After incapactiating Strange's consort, Clea, and his manservant, Wong, he came upon two of the Sorcerer Supreme's most valued possessions: The Cloak of Levitation and the Amulet of Agamotto. Upon touching the amulet, the artifact responded towards the unfriendly contact by producing a glowing bolt that shot forward to warn its master. The Silver Dagger summoned the Fangs of Farallah to swallow the glowing alarm before it could reach Doctor Strange. [1]
Doctor Strange encountered the Fangs of Farallah years later while attempting to help a maddened Black Knight deal with his psychological issues. When the two invariably met one another in combat, Strange was forced to push the Black Knight through the Fangs of Farallah and into the realm of madness. [2]
Notes[]
The Fangs of Farallah may have appeared as early as Strange Tales #116. While traversing the realms of Nightmare, Doctor Strange is careful to avoid a strange set of open jaws with two sets of large fangs. Visually, they look identical to the Fangs of Farallah, but they could in fact be something else entirely.
