The Exorcist gun is a unique firearm that utilizes necro-technology; which is to say, it employs supernatural elements merged with mechanically engineered components. The gun was developed by a former M.I.T. scientist named Silicon Valle for Stark Industries.
Several years ago, vampire hunter Frank Drake used the last of his waning fortune to commission the development of the Exorcist gun, which he nicknamed, "Linda". Using Nanotechnology, the Exorcist gun tracks and targets the unique energy signature given off by supernatural entities.
The delivery system of the gun uses plasma charges which act as a suspension medium, carrying Necrotech motors to their target. The microscopic engines alter the atomic structure of preternatural bone, often causing paralysis in it's intended target.
Frank Drake first employed the Exorcist gun when his colleagues, Blade, Hannibal King and he were manipulated into fighting the Ghost Rider and Johnny Blaze. Frank fired a blast of Necrotech into the Ghost Rider's midsection causing his bones to temporarily fuse together. [1]
Notes & Trivia[]
- The Exorcist gun made a brief prophecy vision appearance in Ghost Rider, Volume 3 #28, but its first actual appearance was in Nightstalkers #1.
- Frank Drake nicknamed the Exorcist gun "Linda". This is a reference to actress Linda Blair who played the role eleven-year-old Regan MacNeil in William Friedkin's 1973 horror film The Exorcist. In the movie, Blair's character was possessed by a demon named Pazuzu.
