"Scotty had promised us a remote location... beautiful scenery... the perfect place to get laid. And maybe it was... if your girlfriend was deaf, dumb, and blind... and you didn't mind seeing her transformed into some shrieking harpie-bitch from Hell!"

Notes & Trivia[]

  • This issue adapts the 1981 feature film The Evil Dead. It expands on character roles and provides flashbacks to events taking place before the series.
  • This issue is UPC barcode number 761568109481 00111.
  • The archaeologist that translates the pages of the Necronomicon in this issue is never given a name. In the film series, he is identified as Professor Raymond Knowby.
  • This series appears to ignore the notion that Cheryl is Ash's sister. The issue treats her as a friend of Linda's whom she met in junior college or jazzercise -- one of those chick things.
  • Even when the archaeologist is cutting off Beth-Marie's arm, he never drops the pipe from his mouth.
