Eve of Destruction is an American film of the cyberpunk and killer robot science fiction genres. It was written and directed by Duncan Gibbins and co-written by Yale Udoff. The film was produced by Interscope Communications and distributed through Orion Pictures Corporation. It premiered on January 18th, 1991. The film stars Gregory Hines as United States Army Colonel Jim McQuade and Renée Soutendijk in the dual role of scientist Doctor Eve Simmons and her robotic creation, Eve VIII. Other stars in the film include Michael Greene as General Curtis, Kurt Fuller as Bill Schneider, John M. Jackson as Peter Arnold and Loren Haynes as Steve the robot.
