Doctor Erik Selvig is a fictional scientist and a supporting character featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film series. Played by Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård, he first appeared in the 2011 feature film Thor. Skarsgård reprised the role in 2012 for the ensemble cast blockbuster The Avengers and again in 2013 in the sequel film Thor: The Dark World.
