The Endless are a fictional "family" of cosmic beings featured in comic books published by DC Comics. They are associated with the Sandman line of titles published under DC's Vertigo imprint and first appeared in The Sandman, Volume 2 #1 in January, 1989. It could be argued however, that the first member of the family to make an appearance is Destiny, who first appeared back in Weird Mystery Tales #1 in August, 1972.
Description[]
The Endless are sentient god-like beings who each represent a specific aspect of life, as indicated by their names. They regard themselves as siblings and are usually presented with pale, white skin.

- The concept of The Endless was created by writer Neil Gaiman and artist Sam Kieth.
- Neil Gaiman once joked that there was an eighth member of the family named "Desmond".
- Desire is the genderless member of The Endless, sometimes characterized with female attributes, and other times characterized with male attributes.
