Emil LaSalle, also known as Warp, is a fictional costumed supervillain featured in comic book titles published by DC Comics. He is part of both the Pre-Crisis Earth-One continuity as well as the Post-Crisis era of DC publishing. He first appeared in New Teen Titans, Volume 1 #14 in December, 1981. Warp has often been presented as a foe of the Teen Titans.
Overview[]
Warp is actually a French criminal named Emil LaSalle. He has the ability to create short range spatial rifts through which he can teleport volumes of matter from an origin point to a predetermined destination at will, including himself. As Warp, Emil was a member of the Brotherhood of Evil and later, the Society of Sin.
Biography[]
Warp was working in cooperation with Copperhead to assassinate a French finance minister at the Pan-European Economic Conference. When Copperhead failed to get the job done, Warp teleported in and got Copperhead away before he could be captured. [1]

- The character of Emil LaSalle was created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Pérez and inker Romeo Tanghal.
- Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985-86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
- A version of Warp also exists in the "New 52" continuity following the "Flashpoint" storyline of 2011.
- Final fate (Pre-Flashpoint): Killed on Cygnus 4019 when he was left behind to power Lex Luthor's transport device, which subsequently exploded.
- Warp's first appearance in New Teen Titans, Volume 1 #14 is actually just a one-panel cameo appearance on the last page. His first full appearance is in New Teen Titans, Volume 1 #15.
- Warp has also appeared in the Teen Titans animated series as well as it's comic book spin-off title, Teen Titans Go!.
- Warp received a character profile in Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe, Volume XVIII. A spot illustration of him was also included in the Brotherhood of Evil profile page in Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe, Volume III.
- Along with fellow Brotherhood of Evil member, Plasmus, Emil LaSalle was an employee of Kenny Braverman's Pipeline.
