Elysius is a fictional humanoid alien and a minor recurring character featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. She is part of the mainstream Marvel Universe and associated with the Captain Marvel family of titles. She first appeared in Captain Marvel, Volume 1 #59 in November, 1978.

Biography[]

When Thanos took control of Titan's massive super-computer network, I.S.A.A.C., he built a fail-safe protocol into I.S.A.A.C.'s systems, which included a final plan should he ever be defeated. The Eternals of Titan did in fact defeat Thanos, thus activating the fail-safe. I.S.A.A.C. used the Life Wells to bio-engineer a group of warriors, whose sole function was to destroy all life on the entire moon. With genetic tampering, I.S.A.A.C. was able to accelerate their developmental cycle, aging them into adulthood instantaneously. [1]

Elysius was assigned to serve as lieutenant to I.S.A.A.C. and carry out Thanos' initiatives. She met and fell in love with the Kree hero, Captain Mar-Vell, and turned against I.S.A.A.C., teaming up with Mar-Vell and his partner, Rick Jones, to oppose the super-computer.

Following Mar-Vell's death a few years later, Elysius arranged to have some of his DNA used in order to impregnate herself. She conceived and gave birth to a son, Genis-Vell. Like Elysius, Genis-Vell was artificially aged into adulthood.

Some years later, it was reported that Elysius had been killed by Lord Syphonn. [2]
