Ellie Fielding is a fictional cancer patient and a minor character featured on the Mayfair Witches television series on AMC. She was played by actress Erica Gimpel and first appeared in the pilot episode of the series, "The Witching Hour". She also appeared in the second episode of season one, "The Dark Place".
Biography[]
Ellie Fielding was born Ellie Mayfair and was a member of the prominent Mayfair family of New Orleans. Some twenty-plus years ago, Ellie's cousin, Deirdre Mayfair, gave birth to a daughter named Rowan. Deirdre's aunt, Carlotta Mayfair, knew that Rowan was destined to become a "designee" - a witch bound to a manipulative and powerful spirit known as Lasher. To safeguard the child and prevent this from happening, Carlotta petitioned Ellie to adopt the child and relocate to San Francisco. Ellie changed her surname to "Fielding" and raised Rowan as her adopted daughter, never revealing her true family heritage.
When Rowan was an adult, Ellie contracted cancer. Rowan was a brilliant neurosurgeon and she tried to use her connections and influence to have Ellie admitted into a series of clinical trials developed by Doctor Keck. Keck denied Ellie's application however, and she died soon after.
