Elizabeth Frances Henstridge is a British television actress from Sheffield, England. Her first work in television was on the UK teen drama series Hollyoaks where she played a character named Emily Alexander. She appeared in episodes 3081 and 3083 in 2011. Elizabeth then appeared in a series of films including the TV movie Shelter in 2012, in which she played a character named Grace, the Butcher Brothers' horror filmThe Thompsons, where she played a character named Riley Stuart and Gangs of Tooting Broadway, where she played a character named Kate.
Elizabeth Henstridge was then cast as a regular on the AmericanABC super-spy action series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. She played the role of tech-nerd Jemma Simmons, who was partnered with another scientist named Leo Fitz (combined the two characters were referred to as Fitzsimmons).
