Biography[]
Elihas Starr was a brilliant scientist and a contractor for the United States government, though his arrogant behavior and enlarged cranium earned the intellectual the nickname of "Egghead".
Elihas Starr was brought before the U.S. Government Atomic Energy Board on charges of attempting to sell secret atomic information to a foreign power. Starr sneered and denied the claim, stating that his accusers were making laughable and insipid patriotic ramblings. To that end, the government terminated their contract with Starr. Seeking funds and a means to uphold his intellectual vanity, Elihas Starr used his resources for criminal endeavors. Meeting with several local crime bosses, they offered him $10,000 if he could find a way to defeat Ant-Man. After studying Ant-Man at length and his relationship to ants, Egghead realized that he could use electronic signals to supersede Ant-Man's control over the insects, turning them against him. He sent messages to the ants, baiting Hank Pym into falling into a trap at a museum. When Ant-Man entered the museum, the ants abandoned him, and he found himself stuck in flypaper, which Egghead had laid out previously. Fortunately for Hank, he had already learned about Egghead's plot and was prepared for this trap. Escaping from the flypaper, he defeated the crime bosses that Egghead had been working with. Egghead escaped, but his actions were now known to the local police and he was a fugitive on the run. [1]
By the age of fifty-two, Elihas Starr felt like a loser for all of his failed ventures against Hank Pym. At the suggestion of his housekeeper Anna, Elihas embarked upon a new scheme of global domination. The first phase of this scheme involved resurrecting the Masters of Evil. Starr recruited Moonstone, Scorpion, Tiger Shark and Whirlwind and sent them into battle against the Avengers. [2]
