Elemental control is a super-power. It is the ability to generate, manipulate and control the elements of creation. Most people who possess this ability can only control one of the provincial elements, but there are some classes of individual, such as wizards, sorcerers and elementals, who can manipulate all four forms. The subdivisions of elemental control include:
- Aerokinesis: The ability to manipulate air.
- Geokinesis: The ability to manipulate earth.
- Hydrokinesis: The ability to manipulate water.
- Pyrokinesis: The ability to manipulate fire.
In Marvel Comics, the Inhuman known as Crystal has the ability to control all four elements. The Aztec God, Quetzalcoatl, can also channel the power of the elements.
Characters who can control earth include Avalanche and Terrax the Tamer. In DC Comics, Geo-Force and his sister, Terra, can control earth.
Characters who can control air include Storm of the X-Men, the Asgardian God, Thor, and the Dread Dormammu.
Hydrokinesis, the ability to manipulate water is possessed by characters such as Hydro-Man, Iceman (limited to the freezing of water) and Mera from DC Comics.
Pyrokinesis is one of the most common forms of elemental control and is possessed by dozens of characters such as both the original and modern age Human Torches, Pyro, Surtur, Sunfire, Magma and the Phoenix.
