Electronic disruption is an occurrence, or in some cases a super-power, which represents the ability to break the electrical signals in circuitry and other electronic equipment, rendering them inert. An example of this phenomenon when used as a super-power can be found in the USA Network television series The 4400. In the season four episode, "Till We Have Built Jerusalem", a female follower of Jordan Collier demonstrated this ability to cut power to machines. Another example of electronic disruption as a power is the comic book character Kitty Pryde from the X-Men family of comic book titles. Kitty is a mutant, who has the ability to render herself intangible. While in this state, she can phase her molecules in between those of electronic devices, shorting them out.
