American Horror Story[]
Ed was a townie in a northern California area and worked as a mechanic and gas station attendant at Roy's Gas & Grub in the early 1980s. He was also a bit of a doomsayer and would warn the locals about the macabre history surrounding nearby Camp Redwood, wherein nine people were brutally murdered in 1970. When the camp was re-opening in 1984, a group of newly hired camp counselors stopped at Roy's Gas & Grub for fuel. Ed warned them, "You're all going to die". Later, convicted serial killer and mental patient Benjamin Richter arrived at the gas station. He murdered Ed by dropping a car that he was working on atop of him. Ed was a young college student during the late 1960s and a friend of Dave Trask. He accompanied Dave to Collinsport, Maine as part of a study to learn about the final fate of Dave's great-great uncle, the witch hunter known as Reverend Trask. After visiting with both Barnabas Collins and later Angelique Collins, they determined that Trask's ship sank some distance off Collinsport Harbor. They took Dave's boat out to the area and went scuba diving to see what they could find. Angelique, being a witch, used her power to manifest herself as an undersea siren, that scared Ed to death. Ed's spirit remained on the earthly plane. As a spirit, he became aware that Barnabas was responsible for Reverend Trask's death and that Angelique was laboring to protect Barnabas. Ed's ghost visited a woman named Jane Willow at the Collinsport Hospital and prompted her into leaving and going to the docks. Ed used her as bait to trap Barnabas, but Angelique interfered and confounded Ed's plans. (Dark Shadows 1)
