Dud Bolt is a fictional alien and a minor character featured in the Star Wars multimedia franchise. He first appeared in the 1999 feature film Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.
Biography[]
Dud Bolt was a member of the Vulptereen race of the planet Vulpter. He was also an accomplished podracer of some reknown and participated in many podrace tournaments, including the Boonta Eve Classic. Dud Bolt piloted the Vulptereen 327 podracer.
Although being a podracer was Dud Bolt's public persona, he was also a hired assassin, who had been working with a Dug named Sebulba. Sebulba had earned himself a nasty reputation on the racing circuit, so he hired Bolt to work as his bodyguard.
Bolt raced in the Boonta Eve Classic on Tatooine in 32 BBY. During the third lap of the race, Dud Bolt slammed his podracer against the one driven by Bumpy Roose, which caused not only Roose's Plug-8G 927 Cluster Array engine pod to crash, but wrecked Bolt's Vulptereen 327 as well.
