| Ducks |
Ducks are a species of bird. These water fowl prefer wetland environments and are usually found in ponds, lakes, and streams. They have water-resistant plumage, which gives rise to the phrase, "water off a duck's back". Many would think that Ducks are indigenous to the planet Earth, but there is evidence that ducks, or creatures similar to ducks, may also exist on other worlds as well... even galaxy, far, far, away. On the planet Tatooine, Obi-Wan Kenobi once made reference to a duck while speaking with Luke Skywalker, who queried, "What's a duck?". On the planet Naboo, Captain Panaka intoned the phrase "sitting ducks", to indicate that Queen Amidala and her entourage would be in danger. This implies that ducks are also a form of wildlife on Naboo as well. Another character who has intoned the phrase "sitting ducks" is Princess Danu of Drogheda, who pointed out the level of imminent danger that Lando Calrissian were in when being fired upon by armed guards. In the Marvel Universe, there is a species of sentient duck folk who hail from a planet called Duckworld. One such member, Howard, found himself transported and stranded on the planet Earth, where he remained for many years.
