The Dream Dimension is an alternate plane of reality that is separate from concrete reality, but is tangentially connected to the real world through the vagaries of dreams within sleeping beings. Most dreamers are largely unaware that they are tapping into an alternate dimension and casually dismiss the Dream Dimension as the byproduct of the subconscious mind.
There are those however, who are very acutely aware of the Dream Dimension and the power that it holds. Such beings can tap into this world in such a way as to project their psyche or even their soul into the Dream Dimension by way of astral projection.
Within the world of dreams - nearly anything is possible, but as with any reality, it too has its properties and its rules as governed by those who are native to this realm. Some indigenous denizens of the Dream Dimension hold power over dreams themselves. Some may do so out of a sense of responsibility to maintain the power of dreams, while others may control its forces for nefarious means.
