Dreadstar is an American ongoing comic book series of the science fiction genre with an emphasis on the "space opera" storytelling convention. It was published by Marvel Comics under their Epic imprint and ran from November, 1982 to August, 1986, spanning a total of twenty-six issues. The series featured the character of Vanth Dreadstar created by writer and artist Jim Starlin.

- The character of Vanth Dreadstar was created by writer & artist Jim Starlin. He first appeared as a series of black and white vignettes known as "The Metamorphosis Odyssey", which appeared in issues of Epic Illustrated beginning with issue #3. Dreadstar then appeared as the title feature in Marvel Graphic Novel, Volume 3 in 1982 prior to the onset of this series.
- Following issue #26, the series was picked up by First Comics, who continued the numbering with issue #27 and ran for another thirty-eight issues, terminating with issue #64.
