Drakulonians, or Vampiri, are a fictional alien race featured in the Vampirella line of titles. They first appeared in Vampirella #1 published by Warren Publishing in September, 1969.
Description[]
Drakulonians are a humanoid race of vampires that hail from the planet Drakulon - world that orbits twin suns. Despite this inherent vulnerability, the planet was once plentiful with nutrience, and blood ran in rivers. Severe droughts however, dried up the blood beds, bringing the people of Drakulon close to extinction.
Biology[]
A sub-race of Drakulonians, known as the Vampiri, demonstrated different physical characteristics, many of which were similar to vampires of Earth. They possessed fangs through which they could drink the blood of victims. The could grow wings, and shape-shift into the form of a bat.
