Synopsis[]
Victor Stone discovers that he is nearly 20% more cybernetic than he was previously. Cautious of this, he disconnects himself from the Grid.
Meanwhile, Cliff Steele learns that Bump Weathers - the man who slept with his wife and adopted his daughter Clara has died. Cliff decides to go to the Salty Bump where a party is being held for him. Rita Farr comes along with him.
Larry Trainor receives multiple dreams from the Negative Spirit, taking him on a journey into the past to a time when he was in love with John Bowers. The spirit prompts him to visit Bowers in reality, who is now an old man. The two share a tender moment before Bowers expires.
At the Salty Bump, Cliff is nervous and unwilling to approach his daughter. He learns that Bump died fighting an alligator named Frances who ate a gold watch that once belonged to Cliff, but now holds sentimental value to Clara. He decides to retrieve the watch by going out into the swamps and confronting Frances. Rita accompanies him for part of the journey, but ultimately turns back around. Cliff eventually finds Frances who dives on top of him. Cliff is victorious however and lays claim to the watch, which he brings back to the bar and leaves behind for Clara to find.
Back at Doom Manor, Crazy Jane convinces Vic to help her search for The Chief. They drive along in their van but stop when they encounter a couple having a domestic dispute. They stop the van when suddenly Victor Stone is abducted by Darren Jones of the Bureau of Normalcy.
