Notes & Trivia[]

Allusions[]

  • Reference is made to the 1960s British spy thriller TV series The Avengers (not to be confused with the Marvel Comics super-hero team). The series starred Patrick Macnee and Diana Rigg as John Steed and Emma Peel. This episode fantasizes the concept replacing Steed & Peel with Victor Stone as "Borg" and Rita Farr as "Beekeeper".
  • Cliff Steele invokes the phrase "Hakuna Matata". This is a fictional African term, which means "No worries". It is featured in the 1994 Disney animated classic The Lion King and is also the title of one of the musical numbers.
  • The song that Cliff Steele is singing towards the end of the episode is "The Living Years" by Mike + The Mechanics. It was released in 1988 as the second single from Living Years.

Quotes[]

  • Cliff Steele: Whoa. Are you okay? Because I delivered some babies in these hallowed halls. Granted, they were bald rats the size of jelly beans but it's all a circle of life and hakuna matata shit, so if you're going to pop, I gotcha.
