Doolans is the surname of a fictional character featured in the Blackgas family of comic book titles published by Avatar Press. He made a single appearance in Blackgas #1 in January, 2006.
Biography[]
Doolans, first name unknown, was a disreputable young man who lived on Smoky Island, some distance east of the coastal town of Footstep. Little is known about this individual save that his family had gained a sour reputation among the locals.
A Smoky Island native named Tyler and his girlfriend Soo Park came upon Doolans in the woods as he was in the process of stabbing and skinning a dog.
Shortly thereafter, a long-dormant volcano dubbed "The Bulge" erupted, projecting pressurized black gas from underground into the air. The winds blew the black gas across the island, and those exposed to it turned into murderous, cannibalistic lunatics. Doolans was one of those infected as evidenced by the black stains under his eyes.
Another infectee was a man named Mister Abraham. Mister Abraham came upon Doolans, whom he already disliked, but his hatred grew into murderous lust, and he brutally killed Doolans by stabbing him repeatedly in the stomach with a shovel.
