Don Carter was a fictional character featured in the Twilight Zone television franchise. Played by actor William Shatner, he first appeared in the 1960 season two episode of the original Twilight Zone television series, "Nick of Time". Shatner's character was a newlywed who came to a small town diner with his new bride Pat where they found a strange, fortune-telling machine that gave out bizarre and startling fortunes.

- The character of Don Carter was created by director Richard L. Bare and writer Richard Matheson.
- This was William Shatner's first role in a science fiction feature. He would go on to play the role of Bob Wilson in the season five episode "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet". Shatner will eventually become more famously known for playing the role of James T. Kirk, captain of the starship USS Enterprise in the Star Trek television and film franchises.
